Kharif crops are the crops which are sown at the beginning of the rainy season, and harvesting between April and May.

Rabi crops are the crops that are sown at the end of monsoon or at the beginning of winter season, i.e. between September and October.

These crops are known as monsoon crops.

These crops depend on the rainfall patterns.
